About Crystal North

I’m a 4th year medical student at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA.  I’m currently applying to residency in Internal Medicine with the tentative career plans of either becoming a Hospitalist or going on to fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine.  I have no idea where I will be 6 months from now, when I graduate from medical school and begin residency, but I’m excited for the change of scenery.  There is a small (or not-so-small, for those of you who really know me) part of my Type A personality that is having a hard time with letting go of the control card, whether or not I truly ever held it to begin with.

Born and raised in the greater Seattle area, I love the outdoors.  There’s almost nothing better than taking a long, strenuous hike on a beautiful Pacific Northwest day. I’ve also taken to Salsa dancing, which turns out to be quite the workout too! Seattle has a pretty great Salsa scene, and I’ve become friends with some pretty cool people through it all.  Being that it is Seattle, I love going to coffee shops and either catching up with friends, or just sitting and reading a good book, which there has been ample time for recently, praise the Lord!

I am a Christian, born and raised Presbyterian, but in the midst of discovering where, in the denomination mileu, my beliefs fit.  I love the Lord my God with all my mind, soul, heart and strength (or whatever order that goes in…!), and I strive daily to live in a way that would make Him proud.  I’m excited to see what He has in store for my life over these next few years, and trust that He is doing amazing things, as He already has.  I’m thankful that He is a patient God, as I don’t always do what I’m supposed to, and sometimes do exactly what I should not! :)
