About Kirstin
I am a 4th year medical student about to graduate in May and start my residency in Family Medicine in the Bronx, NY in July. I love traveling, and this trip will allow me to get to know a new place as well as to use the training that I have received to help those whom I meet there. I am a Christian, and my relationship with God is the most important thing in my life. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to work in a missionary hospital to serve the people who live in the Amazon River Basin and to share a piece of my life with them and a piece of their lives. I have learned to speak Spanish through school and traveling and hope that I will increase my ability to communicate with and serve the Latino community with this trip. Although it will most likely be several years before I can continue in medical missions, I know that I will find a way to continue to work with the people of other countries that need doctors in the future.
