I made it

I made it!!! My 18 hours of traveling went decently well. Luckily neither my luggage nor I missed any of my three flights though it was close. I spent the flights sleeping in strange positions, watching movies, reading. Also I spent some time trying to get my head around the fact that this was it; I was finally going to Ghana. Lots of anxiety, excitement, disbelief, curiosity. I arrived without a hitch and now I am writing this in the house I will be staying in. It is a mission house and the set up reminds me a bit of the convent in Boyle Heights. There are lots of bedrooms, some common space, a kitchen, bathrooms, a nice porch. At the moment it is a bit lonely. I am the only one staying here, tonight at least. There was mention of others coming at some point. For now I’m going to try to fall asleep to the distant noises of tv, dogs, conversations, and cool breezes. Luckily I am pretty tired. We shall see what tomorrow brings. Whatever it is I am sure it will be interesting.

Hello everyone! This is my first blog post ever. Unfortunately I don’t have much to say. I leave for Ghana to do my month long rotation in two days. Yippie! Right now I am just procrastinating while I pack. Thank you for all of your support. If you keep checking the blog I will try to make it more interesting next time. Wish me luck. Peace.
