About Melissa

I’m a 4th year medical student at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine. I am so excited to graduate on May 16th, 2009 and will be starting my residency in Emergency Medicine at Indiana University in July of 2009. I have been so blessed with amazing opportunities in the last several years. I have been given the opportunity to study what fascinates me most (medicine), meet some truly amazing people along the way and have some incredible learning experiences as well.

I am a Christian and was born and raised in loving, supportive, Christian family. I love my Jesus with all of my heart, soul, and mind and every day am blown away as I discover more and more how much He loves me and takes care of me. It’s because of this relationship that I have the desire to reach out and serve others, both in the states and overseas.

I am so excited to travel to Saboba Medical Center in Saboba, Ghana and serve to the best of my ability there. I know that while I am there I will learn so much, not only medically but also personally as well. I know this will be a time of growth for me and a humbling experience and I am so excited to see what the next month holds.

I am so thankful for all of you that are supporting me financially and through your prayers as I take this next huge step in my life. You are all amazing and I would not have made it as far as I have without your love and support. Thank you!
