Leaving Delhi

India called me back; for the third time in just 2 ½ years. I arrived on Friday night (6/20). Since then I had completely forgotten that I was here for anything other than to shop and party. The last few days have been quite glamorous. I’d been thinking that I could actually live in India and not miss the States…we’ll see if I feel the same after reaching Mussoorie. I met Zarema yesterday. She is my contact at the Emmanuel Hospital Association. She is lovely. I feel very confident about the program after having spoken to her. Now it’s Tuesday morning and I am on the Shatabdi train from New Delhi to Dehradun, where I will be received by the hospital driver and then will proceed to Mussoorie. Funny to be listening to Mac Dre and Tori Amos while watching villagers work the fields. The contrast between strange and familiar is manifested in so many ways.

Not ready to leave

I am leaving for India in just about a week and am not at all prepared. I have tried not to think about it because the excitement will be too distracting right now. I need to find some time to finish the INMED online course and do everything else one needs to do before traveling across the world for four weeks. I can’t think of what all needs to be done, but I’m sure Skylar has sent me a list. Can’t wait to switch gears. I’m ready for this school year to end.
