{"id":20,"date":"2015-11-01T16:56:12","date_gmt":"2015-11-01T16:56:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/inmedblogs.us\/amyfish\/?p=20"},"modified":"2015-11-01T16:56:12","modified_gmt":"2015-11-01T16:56:12","slug":"my-last-day-at-cure-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/inmedblogs.us\/amyfish\/2015\/11\/01\/my-last-day-at-cure-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"My Last Day At CURE Hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/inmedblogs.us\/amyfish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/50\/2015\/11\/cure_hospital_building-e1446396953728.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21\" src=\"https:\/\/inmedblogs.us\/amyfish\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/50\/2015\/11\/cure_hospital_building-e1446396953728.jpg\" alt=\"cure_hospital_building\" width=\"530\" height=\"353\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well, since the last time I wrote, both Jean David and Jackie Lynn have returned to Haiti.\u00a0 Jean David left Sept. 14 and Jackie left the next day.\u00a0 I was very sad to see them go, but I know JD and Jackie and both of their mothers were so excited to go home and see their families.\u00a0 It makes me happy to know that they are at home and reunited with their families after all this time.\u00a0 I would need to clarify this with Dr. Nelson &#8211; but I think JD and his mom were here for about three months; Jackie and her mom about 2-3 months.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today is my last day at the hospital\u2026I can\u2019t believe it\u2019s already here!\u00a0 Time goes by so quickly!\u00a0 Tomorrow was supposed to have been my last day, but today is a Dominican holiday and rather than have today off, the director of the hospital decided to give\u00a0us a three-day weekend!\u00a0\u00a0Anyway, I\u2019m very sad that today is it.\u00a0 I have made great friends here &#8211; with the patients, their parents and with the hospital staff as well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The employees and administration of the hospital have been so kind and accomodating to me.\u00a0 I have spent time with many of them outside of the hospital.\u00a0 And, of course, there\u2019s Felipe!!!\u00a0 Felipe has also been an amazing friend &#8211; always looking out for me, always bringing me food, food and more food!!\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 I have spent so much time with her and her two kids that they are like family now!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I am sad that I won\u2019t be around to continue watching \u201cmy kids\u201d\u00a0progress.\u00a0 Every one of the children and teens that I have worked with have embraced me with open arms and have given me days filled with smiles and laughter\u2026.even though for many of\u00a0them, therapy sessions were painful\u00a0and\/or hard work.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, it\u2019s time for me to head to the hospital now.\u00a0 This last day is going to be difficult\u2026I\u2019m not a fan of good-byes.\u00a0 But, this is not good-bye, really\u2026I have exchanged email addresses with patients, their mothers, with hospital staff \u00a0&#8211; so we will be in touch.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many thanks to INMED and CURE Dominicana!
