But the HIV epidemic continues to be a serious threat. Incidence is increasing in North Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. And in sub-Saharan Africa, women and adolescent girls are especially vulnerable. 1,000 become infected every day. <\/p>\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Even more concerning is that in the face of growing complacency, social stigma, decreased government interest, and reduced funding for research and treatment, experts are warning of a resurgence of AIDS.
