Neighborhood Tour

Here are some pictures of the area surrounding Agape’s guest apartment. The name of the neighborhood is Kotelniki, which is considered Podmoskovye (just outside of Moscow city).
Kotelniki! Only ahead! Mothers and children play outside until ~10 pm Sidewalk vendors spread out their wares Some shops line the walk home, including an awesome Tajik bakery
There’s a pond and stream not far from the metro station, adding a dash of nature
A footbridge lets residents cross over to the metro There are at least a dozen stands selling fresh fruit Wall art with children’s storybook characters A grocery store
Bus stop Helplines for the homeless and addicted Many people put up ads to offer services or sublease their apartments Some Russians like to decorate their yards with painted tires
Boxy Soviet architecture dominates most apartment complexes A step down from a city bus, large vans called “marshrutki” follow a regular route and cost about 50 rubles to ride (80 cents)
