Cross-Cultural Compassion – Angola Day 15
July 31st, 2013 by INMED
One beauty of Jesus’ account of the Good Samaritan is the virtue it demonstrates of a person reaching beyond the prevailing social norms and barriers; a virtue applicable to any particular community across the world. This sketch is here in the entryway at Lubango Evangelical Medical Centers. Have you read the account recently? Take a moment to enjoy Luke 10:30-37
Another beauty of this account is the virtue it inspires among men and women who very intentionally model such virtue throughout their lifestyles. Here I’ve captured Steve Foster on hospital rounds speaking with the mother of a gravely ill patient. He’s using both the Portuguese and Umbundo languages, applying every skill in his deep arsenal to communicate truth and compassion within the mire of real life healthcare.
