Over the last four days Nicholas Comninellis been representing INMED at the Global Missions Health Conference in Louisville, Kentucky. Distinct from the INMED Exploring Medical Missions Conference, this event emphasizes more the spiritual dimension of caring for the poor. The encouragement we received through this event was just overwhelming. Former INMED students came by – those who’ve studied at our sites in India, Ghana, Angola, Ecuador, Honduras, China, Papua New Guinea. Academics floated by our exhibit and praised the quality of our self-paced courses and intensive courses. And students of all background came up saying, “We were told that you’re the best organization with whom to study international medicine. How can we sign up?” Most touching of all were conference participants who reminded me of how INMED has played a role in caring for thousands of forgotten people the world over. What attitude shall we take towards this gratitude? “So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty’” (Luke 17:10).
